José Trinidad Marín Age

The now-famous s*x offender was born in the United States to Mexican immigrant parents. He was born on February 15, 1964, in California and is 57 as of early 2022.

José Trinidad Marín Bio

José Trinidad Marín was born in the US, but he didn’t spend his entire childhood in the United States as they moved back to Mexico shortly.

There is no information as to when exactly he and his family left and returned to the US. The family then returned to the United States, where they finally settled down.

He then met a girl in high school, and her name was Dolores “Jenni” Rivera. And, little did José know that Jenni would become a star in the music industry.

Jenni was a talented singer who came from a musically inclined family who often made music together. Rivera grew up in a Mexican-American household and learned to appreciate Latin music early on. Her brother, Lupillo Rivera, is a famous singer-songwriter even today.

But before she shot into superstardom in the mid-1980s, Rivera was a Straight-A student. She was a known intellectual and musical talent but got pregnant at 15 amidst her academic success.

Remarkably, Jenni chose to keep the baby, and the couple welcomed their first daughter, Chiquis, on June 26, 1985.

The young couple married in 1984. José also never had a stable job at the time but fortunately found one before the arrival of Chiquis. José became an administrator for a Mexican-American Cafe when his daughter was born.

He took odd jobs before to make ends meet, and fortunately, it worked out. The man finally had a stable source of income, but it would be a different story in the future. The couple would have two more children in the next six years, Jacqie & Michael, in 1989 and 1991, respectively.

Despite the newfound prosperity of the José Trinidad Marín, one cannot help but wonder why. At the time Jenni gave birth, she was a junior in high school, and José was 21 years old. Why did nobody speak out about this? But more importantly, why was a minor permitted to marry an adult?

Especially in this day and age, this would have been a significant problem in mainstream society. There are no sources that claim her parents were against the match, only that she married him.

Controversy

Through his wife’s dedication and hardwork, she graduated high school on time as the class valedictorian. However, it was around this time trouble would make its way into the home of the Marín’s. The late 1980s and early 1990s ushered in a new era for the Marín family, specifically Jenni and her husband.

José was vocal about his wish for Jenni to be a housewife and watch the children. However, she had dreams. When she received support to pursue college, José physically abused her.

She eventually got into the Business Administration program of California State University and graduated around the early 1990s.

She rose to fame after recording a song intended for her father only, and then her vocals were on the radio. One thing led to another, and the girl who sold cans to make ends meet was now a rising star. However, the happiness would temporarily come to a halt.

Accusations of sexual harassment directed at José Trinidad Marín would later lead to a messy divorce. The victims eventually brought the issue to court as he was a sex offender, and accusations came to light. He was put on trial in 1997, but it would take almost a decade before receiving his sentence.

José was a fugitive and was constantly on the run until authorities captured him in 2006. The court charged him with several counts of felony and faced the consequences of his immorality.

He received eight charges for lewd acts upon a child, oral copulation with a child, aggravated sexual assault, and continual sexual assault.

This came after he had m*lested his own daughter, Chiquis, and his sister-in-law, who was around seven at the time. Furthermore, the court discovered that he had also molested an employee in the cafe he used to work in. It started as just rumors, but it turns out it wasn’t a rumor at all.

José is still currently serving his sentence of 31-years as of early 2022. But even then, the scars he caused may never heal for his victims.

Chiqui’s aunt, Rosie, regrets not saying anything sooner. Tia Rosie, as her nieces called her, believes her niece could’ve been spared from the abuse.

José’s daughter, however, bears no ill will towards her father and has even forgiven him. It took her some time, but she eventually talked to him and expressed her love on social media. It’s hard to believe Chiqui still managed to forgive him simply because he’s her father.

She recently spoke to him in an episode of The Riveras, and although nervous, she claims she felt a connection. She felt apprehensive at first as she felt it was as if she was betraying her mother.

Furthermore, Chiquis had never spoken to him since he got incarcerated. But come to think of it, Jenni may have wanted her to be at peace and move on from the dark times.
